War does not determine who is right, but who is left.
Our law system and rules are in ruins.

I have notices that children are becoming very hard to control, from a teachers point of view. This is probably caused by the lack of discipline or rules. The system is wrong, and of course the system is easy to break - much like our law system.

Im not saying that the American law system is better though, you murder someone - the police get to murder you back. Plus when you killed someone, it took seconds...when they kill you it takes 9 years. Hald the time they get the wrong people or inoccent people, and so killing these people would be wrong.

America, is supposed to be a free country, Im not so sure, however i still plan to persue my dream of living in America, the dream that will probably remain a dream, and in today's US Society possibly best if I didnt go. In all fairness, the US law system, is its only downfall - apart from that it is a 'Dream' country to certain extents.

Ive had a dig at America's only downfall - the Law system, so ill take one at our very own british law system...the list is long. Where America go to extremes and kill any people braking the law, we do the opposite and dont do enough, which means that you can kill someone and get 20 years - or kill someone, plead insanity and get 5-10 years rehab.

I dont know a country with a good law system, but i do know that the UK and USA should be better, as we are the richest and most proud countries in the world...

Where are you getting your info? Wherever your getting it, it is flawed. Any good lawyer will tell you that the insanity plea hardly ever works. 9 months on a death sentence? More like 9 YEARS or more. DNA evidence is slowly changing the percentage of innocents in prison. And BTW the police only get to kill you under strict circumstances proscribed by the courts. Just because you kill does not automatically mean that you will be killed.

Brendan, the english law system is far worse. Did you know teachers arent even alowed to shout at children?
There is no longer any deterant anymore. I think the death sentace should be reinstated, i think its unfair for someone to murder, and let them live with tv's and video's and dvd players in a games room supplied by the british government! In answer to your question "is the law system right?" i say no, the americans have got one of the best in my opinion!

Exactly. It is unfair to murder, yet you want to comit the act of murder towards the accused? why does that make you any better?

Can't you give them life without parole? Or no parole for at least 25 years?

Ok, i worded that wrong, i was the guilty to suffer - if one person murders one person, then they should be killed - thats my view, even if it is killing them back. Death is the worse thing life can throw at you, they have nothing. And after 25 years, they get let out on a normal murder charge! While the families and the victims have to suffer for alot longer.. Think Brendan, if someone got killed in your family, you would want justice, no matter what the cost.. if you dont, i sure bloody do!

Hear, Hear! You kill my family? You'd better hope to God that the government puts you to death. And let God have mercy on your soul because I sure won't!

Thats the typical attitude ive come to expect, you have to think - dont just let your anger on someone who has 'Murdered' - i would love to beat the living hell out of someone who murdered, i would love to cause a great deal of slow merciless pain towards them; but then see it through his families eyes, he may have killed someone, but how is the murderers family going to feel.

And ben, i thought you were a christian (and a very strong one) - yet you want to commit the act of murder! Put brain into gear before fingers touch keyboard

Did you notice that I said "FAMILY" not some stranger? I'd like to see you walk the walk after someone murdered one of YOUR children or your parents.

Are you a teacher, Brendan? What is the source of your claims?

Any system of law is going to be flawed because no one response is correct under every situation. The plan is to have the rule of law right in the most situations. Our idea is better to err on the side of caution than to make mistakes.

There are so many appeals built into the system that it is becoming increasingly rare that mistakes will be made in the future. I think the death penalty should only be used in special cases, either a terribly brutal crime or multiple murders. I don't think that anyone could argue that any seed of humanity still lay in Ted Bundy, Timothy McVeigh, Jeffery Dahmer, or John Gacy.
